Iran: Basij protest calls for closure of French embassy in Tehran

A rally by members of the Iranian regime’s Basij paramilitary force called for the closure of the Embassy of France in Tehran on Monday.
According to witnesses, the rally did not succeed in gathering more than a few hundred people who chanted "Death to France".
Last week, several provincial representatives of Ali Khamenei, the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader, welcomed the 7th January attack on Charlie Hebdo Magazine in Paris.
Ahmad Tavakoli, a member of the regime’s parliament, told the rally: "the attack against this evil newspaper seems to have been fictitious and had been carried out by agents of Mossad and the CIA."
Another speaker, Mohsen Mirhaji, a Basij representative, speaking at the rally outside the French embassy, reminded that the demonstration is being held on Khamenei’s order.
"We are gathered here today to remind the shameless Ambassador of France that if we do not demolish the embassy today on their head, it's because of the orders from our leader [Ali Khamenei]," he shouted.
