THE parents of a missing 11-year-old girl say they are petrified for her safety, as she has a tendency to get into cars with strangers.
Samantha Norman has not been seen since Thursday afternoon, when she walked into a strangers’ house in Fairfield and asked to use the telephone.The young girl, who is due to finish Year 5 next week, called her mother to ask for a relative’s address in the Campbelltown area, but never made it there.
Her mother and father, Ben and Carol, said they had "hit the panic button" because although she has been known to run away in the past, she always makes contact.
"She has autism, and if she doesn’t take her medication she doesn't foresee possible danger," Ben said.
"She will get into cars with strangers or she will go to a stranger’s house."
Her parents think she was wearing a white singlet and blue shorts when she was last seen. She has no mobile phone or access to money, and is without her medication, heightening her family’s fears.
"This is as bad as it gets, we are petrified and we just want her back safely," Ben said.
Police said they checked a Campbelltown address that Samantha was likely heading too, but she had never arrived.
It is possible she could be heading to the Barrack Heights, Eagle Vale, Cambridge Park or Warilla areas, and her parents begged the public to keep and eye out and contact police.
