Michaela Garecht MISSING ( KIDNAPPED) Hayward CALIFORNIA

Two Decades Later, Search For Michaela Garecht Still An Active Investigation

It was November 1988 when Michaela Garecht and a friend rode their push scooter to a nearby convenience store, the Rainbow Market, in Hayward, Calif., east of San Francisco.

When the girls came out, one of the scooters was gone. Michaela that noticed it was pushed against a car in the parking lot.

When Michaela went to retrieve her scooter, a man jumped out of the car, snatched her and threw her in his vehicle.

He sped off, and Michaela was never seen again. The cashier inside made a frantic 9-1-1 call, and investigators responded.

They spoke with the cashier before speaking with Michaela’s friend. They gleaned a preliminary description of the car, though some of the information changed once they spoke with the other young girl Michaela was with. Both descriptions went out to the public. He was driving an older tannish-gold, full-size car, boxy in shape with body damage.

Michaela was gone, vanished without a trace, and the hunt was on to find her abductor.

Michaela's abductor's is described as a white male in his 20's with severe acne and boils on his face. When she was snatched, he may have been wearing his hair in a ponytail, and his ears stick out more than normal. Cops say he had long, dirty blonde hair. Witnesses say he has mottled enamel on his teeth, and he's very think, with fair skin.
Have you seen her?
